The Gold Mountain Via Ferrata VR Climbing Experience gets you about as close
as you can get without leaving the ground.
Designed with the intent to let clients (and anyone else who’s curious)
vicariously climb this incredible Via Ferrata located in Ouray, Colorado, Blue
Marble teamed up with owner/operator Logan Tyler and his talented crew to
create an unforgettable virtual experience. Each ‘pitch’ along the climbing route
was filmed from various positions alongside the mountain using our ultra high
definition, 360º/3D virtual cameras to create a total, life-like immersion in the
environment. The idea here was to encourage prospective clients to get out and
climb the real, physical Via Ferrata by giving them a life like, immersive
experience with the simulated VR version.
Basecamp Ouray keeps a headset and iPad located at the check-in area inside their headquarters to entice and entertain those who are interested in making the physical climb. Additionally, a ‘VR’ experience space at the local Visitors Center in Ouray also features the climbing experience and other various hikes and destinations in the area. Engagement at both locations has been very successful.
